Half of the people that get Oral Cancer are expected to live at least more than 5 years after they are treated and diagnosed. If tongue cancer is detected early then the cure rate is nearly 90%. More than half of oral cancers have already spread when it is detected.
Treatments
Surgery is usually recommended if the tumor is small enough to remove. Surgery can also be used with radiation therapy or chemotherapy for larger tumors.

- Dry mouth or difficulty swallowing from complications of radiation therapy
